The VAIO S series was a line of notebook computers from Sony introduced in Summer 2004. The screen was a Hitachi 13.3q 16:10 aspect 1280x800 model. It was a Centrino laptop, with Intel Pentium M CPU, and ATI Mobility Radeon 9200 or 9700 graphics. The weight of the device was 1.89kg, and it was replaced in 2006 by the SZ series. The VAIO S series is also a line of notebook computers from Sony introduced in January 2010 to replace the SR series. Like the SR, the S is a consumer-grade laptop with 13.3q screen, however the aspect ratio is now 16:9 1366x768 rather than 16:10 1280x800, the CPU is Core i3, i5 or i7 rather than Core 2 Duo, the RAM is DDR3 rather than DDR2, and the GPU options are updated to Intel HD or Nvidia 310M. As with the SR, the S has optional Blu-ray drive.
